Every day we circle round the streets of our city, carrying carousels of thoughts in our minds...
...thoughts, invisible...until we speak them. Much remains forever in a "somewhere".
If we could see these thoughts, the urban space would be a teeming picture of the unspoken.
"Stadtgeflüster" is an auditory installation that feeds into the street scenery as a quiet whisper and seeks a sensitive dialogue with the city.
Scraps of words, fragments of ideas combine to form a mishmash of quiet echoes of thoughts. Secrets are revealed here:
Questions, wishes, fears and longings for and about our city; its strengths, its worries, its curiosities, its stories.
Zurich residents / passers-by / Loop visitors are invited to whisper their fantasies and concerns into the street space.
With each visitor, the colourful smorgasbord of whispers grows.
A soundtrack of city voices emerges, which, like an echo sounder, allows us to sense Zurich's sphere of influence.
A bottom-up project, participatory, ever evolving.
The closet becomes a sound studio. Here you can reveal your secrets…what do you want to tell the city?
